With the official Spring weather starting to creep in, I wanted to share one of my favorite beverage recipes! A little lavender on lavender, featuring the Paige dress from Voodoo Vixen. First off, the recipe for this delicious spring time drink!
Ingredients
Dried lavender (I found mine at Target, brand is Archer Farms)
2 Cups sugar (You can start with one cup and add to taste)
2 Cups of boiling water for lavender infusion
1 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 Cups cold water
(And I added about a tablespoon of clear vanilla because I love vanilla in everything!)
1.) Add sugar and lavender into a measuring bowl. I only put two tablespoons of lavender, but it depends on how strong you want the flavor. If you do add too much, the vanilla helps make it more subtle.
2.) Pour in the boiling water to the sugar and lavender. Stir while the sugar dissolves, then set aside for the lavender to infuse into the water. This could be 20-30 minutes depending on how strong you want it to be.
3.) Time for a little workout for your hands now, start squeezing the lemons!
4.) Once the lavender infused water has set for the desired amount of time, strain it into a pitcher and add the lemon juice.
5.) Add two cups of cold water and give it a taste! I ended up adding more water and sugar, but it depends on how sweet or tart yours turns out to be. When it's to your liking, add a little vanilla for a bit of extra delightful flavor.
Dress time!! I was lucky enough to get this beautifully simplistic dress from Voodoo Vixen, and there isn't a thing about it I don't love.
Not only is the fabric incredibly comfortable and breathable, it has a precious matching belt and pockets! (I'm ALL about pockets in dresses..)
I felt like this was ideal for coming out of the winter colors since it's such a breath of fresh air as a dress.
The detail on the back is what caught my eye for sure, and what a precious peter pan collar with that back swoop! The A-line skirt has just the right amount of swing in it (perfect for any swing dancers out there!)
I never thought I could pull off purple but I swear this dress has made me a firm believer that I need more of this color in my closet!!
Enjoy the lemonade and keep being beautiful, dolls!!
