All The Layers!

I have been busy with a capital B this whole month. Trying to juggle orders with school and making my Halloween costume...it's been a bit of a nightmare. But that hard work has paid off because I'll have a brand new camera next week, giving me even more reason to get out of the house and shoot some outfits!

Today was the first day where the temperature was a little colder than just "chilly", so I wanted to layer up and it turned out better than I thought it would. Sometimes the best outfits are the improvised ones!

Isn't that Fleur de Lis gorgeous? I love the print and was able to buy it from my awesome Instagram friends closet sale, @junebugscloset! It's a Trashy Diva circle skirt, perfect length, complete with pockets. Unfortunately I'm not sure where my jacket is from, it's one of the things I got from my grandma that there's no telling how old it is or where she got it, haha. The beret is a vintage one I picked up over the weekend, but it's really easy to find wool berets on Etsy! I found the turtleneck at JC Penny's last year, I'm pretty sure it's Liz Claiborne. Sometimes I just find perfect shirts in the least likely places...so I bought this in tan and royal blue!!

I've been suddenly obsessed with berets again, I haven't worn one in so long. Silly little story of the first time I wore one: It was freshman year of high school and I found a beret to perfectly match my new dress I had. I wore it to math class and my teacher got onto me for wearing a hat, but I thought I could get away with it because it was a "fashion accessory" and another girl was wearing them all the time. But that didn't fly with my teacher, she said if I didn't take it off she would write me up to the office. So that was the closest I ever came to going to the principal, and I secretly resented that girl who continued to wear berets for the rest of the year. Ah, youth...haha! Now I can wear hats WHENEVER I WANT! It's the little things like that in life that give me joy.

In addition to the outfit, I'm wearing the 1922 lipstick color Blood Red by Besame!! I never thought I would give up my Kat Von D. liquid lipsticks and go back to regular tubes, but oh my gosh I cannot stop wearing Besame lipsticks. Every color I have from them is gorgeous and absolutely amazing! It makes me the happiest little lady on Earth to be able to call myself a Besame Girl. I feel like every time I say that there should be a confetti canon of rose petals to fall on me with a little harp playing. (It all goes on in my head even though it would never happen in real life). I'll have to make a big combined post of all the golden goodies I have from Besame so I can brag about how amazing they are!

Whew! That was a long post, sorry I got off topic with that silly beret story. I'm looking forward to finding new outfit combos with jackets and hats this season. I'll see you all soon!
